Free Pepper the Seal
My heart breaks every time I think of Pepper, the captive seal whose home is a small cage at the North Safari Sapporo Zoo. Like every other being, seals are entitled to freedom and deserve a habitat where they can thrive, not merely survive.
Seals, like humans are social animals, typically living in large colonies. In their natural habitat, seals swim up to 50 miles a day, dive deep for food, and engage with their environment in a way that a small cage can never allow.
Tragedy strikes when, like Pepper, they are forced to pass their days confined in a small cage, a mere fraction of their natural habitat. Even worse, this is in full view of the cottage for renters at the zoo, turning Pepper's suffering into a spectacle.
Join me in this fight to #FreePepper.
Let's turn our concern into action; our collective voice can bring a wave of change. Let's ensure Pepper gets the freedom she rightfully deserves.
